Ahhh, it's fall. Falling leaves, colder weather, Halloween, Thanksgiving. This time, I want you to write an poem about your favorite thing about November. Whether that be that leaves, cold weather, Thanksgiving, or just the Winter holidays that are just around the corner. It can be any type of poem as long as it's a poem! Only one entry per kid, please! Email your metaphor to me at kidswriteout@gmail.com. Be sure to include your first name, age, email address (you can use your teacher's email address if you don't have one), and state. Example: Bob, 15, bob@example.com, Washington. The October Contest is a simple contest. I want you to write a metaphor. A metaphor is a figure of speech that constructs an analogy between two things or ideas. An example would be "A smile sprouted on his lips." Your metaphor can be about anything, as long as it's a metaphor.
Only one entry per kid, please! Email your metaphor to me at kidswriteout@gmail.com. Be sure to include your first name, age, email address, and state. Example: Bob, 15, bob@example.com, Washington. We're moving on to the September Contest. It's a story contest should begin "Fall would be Jacob's favorite time of year if it wasn't for..." Finish the story and submit the story.
